so far...wingra is the only lake that I know of that is frozen. it froze over on sunday night and could be decent soon to ride.

craig mentioned to check out www.iceboat.org to keep an eye on ice conditions.

heard a rumor that kegonsa also has ice.

i would expect to see waubesa freeze soon, then monona, then hopefully mendota if all goes well.

then bring on the snow...lots of snow.

woo hoo. it's going to be a great winter for riding.

the river (m and 113 intersection) that feeds into cherokee lake is frozen solid and is real smooth, I would say you can definitely ice skate on it, and I didn't check it, but my guess is that the lake is too. I jumped up and down on the river ice and it didn't pop or crack, so I'm guessing the rest of that area is the same. access the river by the same road to get to isthmus windsurfing shop, continue down the dirt road and is on your left.

mike...i have no experience whatsoever with that area. i know where you're talking about, but concerned it might have some flow to it if it's a river. if it's a small lake with no flow...then it should be golden.

lakes should be freezing fast now...i hope.
