I may go, will have to watch the wind forecast. I've been going to lake millacs for th past number of years. It is awesome. Almost 23 miles across. It's an adventure going across this lake. Here is a web cam, probably more if you search on the net. http://www.hunterspointresort.com/webcam.html

I did the crossing last year. exceptional organization as well as a great time.

I have a few recommendations though ...

the lake is huge.....memorize the shape of the lake and bring a compass

last year it was so hazy people were ending up all over the lake. not knowing the lake I ended up at a casino on the home stretch and ended up having to bust back up wind and doing the last half of the return stretch all over again. yeah...last place for me....not so great (the last recorded time) I swear, there were others behind me. I still blame it on the TOOL on the snowmobile who pointed me in the wrong direction.

it is unlikely i'll be there this year due to new job....unless.....

unless someone from madison wants to bust up there Friday night?

I emailed my parents who live up there...this was the response. good, bad you decide.

Kris

The snow is thin. It seems to cover the ice because it is
hard and doesn't blow around. This weekend is supposed to be warm but
there is quite a bit of snow forecast. Forecasters are calling it a
major snow event. Travel could be a problem.

Is Karl coming to the Xing? I was hoping he'd bring your speeds! Sounds like you don't have them dialed in yet? Too bad they didn't come just ready to rock. Regardless, I think it would be fun to even look at them and smell that new kite smell.

Hope we get that snow they're predicting or it's gonna be a crossing on skates!

A.

I am officially not coming now due to travel in the snow storm. I was going to go up Sat morning from Minneapolis but with 6-8 in of snow who knows how long it would take. Plus Sunday we are supposed to get bombed so I decided it wasn't smart. Plus I will have more time to ride around here if I'm not driving!
